Big Sky Suspends Sacramento State Football Player

OGDEN, UTAH (Oct. 28, 2009) - The Big Sky Conference announced it has suspended Sacramento State football player Avery White for his actions in last Saturday’s game against The University of Montana.

White, a freshman linebacker from Manteca, Calif., will be suspended for Sacramento State’s Oct. 31 home game against Northern Arizona.

White was ejected from the Montana game for a flagrant personal foul, which in accordance with 2009 NCAA Rules of Football calls for an automatic video review for possible additional sanctions.

The Big Sky suspension will run concurrently with the one-game suspension Sacramento State issued White.

“We commend Sacramento State for taking the lead and issuing a one-game suspension,’’ said Big Sky Conference Commissioner Doug Fullerton. “We are also suspending him for a flagrant and dangerous act. Both suspensions will be served this weekend.’’
