PC Names Nichols Head Football Coach
Harold Nichols will return to his alma mater, PC, as head football coach
...
Presbyterian has named former quarterback and Bucknell offensive coordinator Harold Nichols as its new head coach.
Athletic director William Carlton announced the appointment on Wednesday.
Nichols replaces Bobby Bentley, who left earlier this month for Byrnes High School and administrative jobs in the same school district.
Bentley helped guide Presbyterian from NCAA Division II into the Football Championship Subdivision, formerly known as Division I-AA.
Nichols played at Presbyterian from 1987-89 and left with 3,688 yards passing. He began his coaching career as a Blue Hose assistant the next season, working with quarterbacks and running backs.
He spent the 2008 season helping Bucknell average just under 25 points a game.
