Northeast Conference Announces 2008 Fall Scholar-Athlete Winners & Academic Honor Roll
Robert Morris junior linebacker Adam Lawrence (Big Run, PA/Dubois Area) is the recipient of the NEC scholar-athlete award in football.

A two-year starter at outside linebacker, he finished second on the Colonials and seventh in the NEC with 83 tackles this past season, including 30 solo stops. Lawrence also paced Robert Morris with 3.5 sacks (tenth in NEC) and six quarterback hurries, forced a fumble and recovered another. His 170 career tackles ranks first among active Colonials and 19th in school history. Named to the ESPN The Magazine District II Academic All-America team, the Big Run, PA native sports a near perfect 3.98 grade point average as an Environmental Science major.
Two student-athletes from Robert Morris and Sacred Heart, along with one each from Central Connecticut State, Lock Haven, and Quinnipiac comprise the 2008 Fall Scholar-Athlete award winners for the Northeast Conference. In addition to the scholar-athletes, the NEC also announced its fall Academic Honor Roll, consisting of 740 student-athletes, a 31.4 percent increase from the fall of 2007. All scholar-athlete award winners must have earned a minimum of 60 semester hours, maintained a minimum cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 and participated with distinction as a member of a varsity team.
