JSU Tigers release 2009 Schedule
Jackson State Director of Athletics Robert L. Braddy announced the release of the 2009 Jackson State football schedule. The ten-game schedule includes a season-opening match-up against the SEC’s Mississippi State in Starkville on Sept. 5. The Tigers will then face Tennessee State in the Southern Heritage Classic in Memphis, Tenn. on Sept.
JSU will host the Grambling State Tigers at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson, Miss. on Sept. 19 for the second annual W.C. Gorden Classic. On Oct. 3, JSU will travel to Baton Rouge, La. to take on the Southern Jaguars. JSU will return to Memorial Stadium to host Arkansas-Pine Bluff for High School Day on Oct. 10. The following week, Texas Southern will come to Jackson to take on the Tigers.
The Tigers will take on in-state rival, Mississippi Valley State, on Oct.
24 in Itta Bena, Miss. Homecoming 2009 is set for Nov. 7 when the Tigers face the Alabama State Hornets. JSU will take its final regular season road trip on Nov. 14 when the Tigers travel to Normal, Ala. to face the Alabama A&M Bulldogs.
The Tigers and the Alcorn State Braves will square off in the regular season finale on Nov. 21.
