Big South Announces Additional Television Coverage for Football
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference today announced additional television coverage of its football games during the 2009 season, beginning with Saturday’s showdown between No. 6 James Madison and No. 24 Liberty. Meanwhile, Saturday’s JMU-Liberty matchup also will be the national FCS Game of the Week on all-sports radio station WCKY-AM 1360 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
WPDE/WWMB-TV in Conway/Myrtle Beach will simulcast six Big South football games live, while the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN) will simulcast two games and tape delay two others. JCTV, a division of the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), will tape delay five Liberty football broadcasts airing on the Flames Sports Network.

WWMB-TV 21 will air the Flames Sports Network’s production of this Saturday’s James Madison-Liberty game at 7:00pm, as well as the network’s Oct. 3 West Virginia Wesleyan-Liberty game at 3:30pm. WPDE or WWMB will simulcast the Oct. 17 Coastal Carolina at Liberty game, the Oct. 24 Coastal Carolina at Stony Brook broadcast on MASN, the Oct. 31 Presbyterian College-Liberty matchup and the Nov. 7 VMI-Liberty game, which is also airing on MASN.
MASN recently announced its full college football broadcast schedule, and a total of eight games involving the Big South will air on the network this season. MASN will air a tape delay broadcast of Saturday’s James Madison-Liberty game on Monday, Sept. 28 at 11:30pm, and will simulcast the Oct. 3 West Virginia Wesleyan-Liberty game. Other airings include Coastal Carolina-Liberty tape delayed on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 1:00pm, and live broadcasts of Coastal Carolina-Stony Brook (Oct. 24), Presbyterian College-Liberty (Oct. 31) and VMI at Liberty (Nov. 7).
JCTV began its partnership with Liberty this past Saturday with a re-airing of the Flames’ Sept. 12 game vs. North Carolina Central. The remaining four games will air approximately two hours following kickoff, beginning with Liberty’s game against James Madison this Saturday, which will air at 9 p.m. (EST) on Sept. 26. JCTV will air West Virginia Wesleyan-Liberty at 5:30pm on Oct. 3, Coastal Carolina-Liberty at 5:30pm on Oct. 17 and Presbyterian College-Liberty at 5:30pm on Oct. 31. Covering 90 million homes, JCTV is available in most markets around the country, as well as DirecTV (Channel 372) and Dish Network (Channel 260).
The Big South previously announced that SportSouth’s 11:30am live broadcast of Charleston Southern at Gardner-Webb also will be simulcast on Fox College Sports Pacific (FCSP).
