NC A&T Accept Circle City Invite, Release 2010 Schedule
Aggies to play Morgan State for Homecoming
North Carolina A&T’s director of athletics Wheeler Brown announced on Wednesday that the North Carolina A&T football team will play in the 2010 Circle City Classic in Indianapolis on October 2.
It will be the first classic the Aggies have played in since playing in the Angel City Classic in Los Angeles against Prairie View A&M in 2007. They will make their first Circle City appearance in five years. The Aggies are 3-0 in the Circle City Classic, including their 16-3 win over Tennessee State in 2005. Tennessee State will be the Aggies opponent in 2010.

Circle City’s mission is to support educational achievement, promote cultural excellence, while showcasing the spirit, energy and tradition of America’s historically black colleges and universities.
It is a joint collaboration between Indiana Black Expo, Inc., and the Indiana Sports Corporation. The net proceeds from the Classic help fund scholarships and support youth initiatives for each organization. Since 1984, more than 1 million dollars have been awarded to deserving Indiana natives who pursue higher education.
“It is one of the most organized classics on the HBCU circuit,’’ Brown said about Circle City. “It’s been a few years since we’ve been in a classic, so it certainly feels great to be a part of a classic once again. The Circle City Classic is going to be a great experience for our student-athletes. It also gives our fans an opportunity to travel to a great American city like Indianapolis to cheer on the Aggies.”
Brown also released the entire 2010 schedule on Wednesday. A week after playing in the Circle City Classic, the Aggies host Morgan State for Homecoming 2010. The October 9 game will be played at 1:30 p.m.
N.C. A&T opens the season against arch-rival Winston-Salem State at Aggie Stadium on September 4. The Aggies other home games include Howard on October 23; Florida A&M on Nov. 6; and S.C. State on Nov. 20.
The Aggies will travel to Norfolk State and Hampton on September 11 and 18 respectively before playing rival and newest MEAC member N.C. Central on September 25. The game will be a non-conference game. A time and location for the game has not been determined.
