Bison plan to use old style of NDSU defense
Craig Bohl knew he needed to fix his defense this spring. NDSU allowed an average of 29 points a game last season.
So when he hired Scott Hazelton as Defensive Coordinator in January, he wanted to go back to the old style of NDSU defense which is the ball hawking, and stopping teams from being able to run the ball and the transformation is coming along.

“The thing we’re excited about is just running to the football. That’s gotten a lot better; we’d just be running every play like we’d like to be. There are still some guys we’re stressing and those are the things, the fundamentals.”
“The thing that helps a lot is we take a bunch of reps, see what I need to do and analyze it. I got a year under my belt so much easier to break down; I’ve already seen it all pretty much.”
The Bison hold their first scrimmage of the spring on Saturday.
