The Drake football team has selected seniors Andrew Asbell, Ben Morrison, Steve Platek, and Dain Taylor as its captains for the 2010 season.

Taylor was an all-Pioneer Football League selection at defensive end last season after leading the league in sacks with 10.5. Platek was an all-league running back after rushing for 157 yards and catching passes for 553 yards.

Asbell was honorable mention all-PFL at defensive tackle and Morrison was honorable mention at linebacker.

The four helped lead Drake compile an 8-3 record and finish second in the PFL at 6-2.

“This group has poured five years of their lives into Drake football and I know that they will do all they can to lead our program to reach its full potential this fall,” Drake coach Chris Creighton said.
