Alabama State Fires Interim AD
The Montgomery Advertiser is reporting that Alabama State fired interim athletic director Sterling Steward. Steward replaced Monique Holland last October and felt the decision came down to disagreements over the future of the ASU athletic department.

In a statement released to the media, university president William Harris said that he came to the decision during the school’s annual budget preparation process and that the school’s chief operating officer, John Knight, would serve as interim athletic director.
Among the issues that Steward feels he has left behind is an inadequate compliance office at a school that had numerous NCAA violations two years ago.
The school plans to conduct a national search to fill the position.
