FAMU football coach Taylor makes push for new turf at Bragg
ALACHUA – Joe Taylor concluded his off-season fund-raising tour Friday night, announcing that a fund has been set up at Florida A&M to pay for the installation of artificial turf inside Bragg Stadium. Taylor said he expects to have sufficient money to have the turf in time for the Rattlers’ first home game on Oct. 2.

Taylor announced plans for the project during his meeting with members of FAMU’s Alachua Alumni Association. He is also counting on the other 59 chapters to help raise the money to pay the $700,000 for the new turf.
Having the turf will bring FAMU up to standard with most of the other programs in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, Taylor told his audience. Additionally, he said a new field will help recruiting.
“Everybody is going toward artificial turf,” Taylor said. “We’ve got to move because everybody else is moving. We’ve got to do that.”
