Clint Conque Finalizes UCA Coaching Staff
CONWAY, Ark - University of Central Arkansas head football coach Clint Conque has added the final three members of his staff for the 2010 season. Joining the Bears will be tight ends coach Jeremy Hammock, interior defensive line coach Cody Moore and assistant defensive backs coach Keith Scott.
“We are very fortunate to have attracted such quality individuals to complete our staff,” said Conque. “They bring expertise and work ethic to our program. I am excited to get started and have these coaches direct and mentor their position players.
“Each has embraced our philosophy and tradition of our football program and look forward to working with our existing staff.”
Hammock comes to UCA after spending time as a graduate assistant at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He spent the last two seasons as the tight ends coach at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas. As a player, Hammock was a four-year letterwinner and two-year starter at tight end for ULM. He helepd the Warhawks to a 2005 Sun Belt Conference title. Hammock will help UCA in recruiting the Dallas metroplex area.
Moore joins the UCA staff after spending the last three years coaching for BCS programs. Last year, Moore was the defensive quality control coach for Texas A&M. Prior to his time in College Station, he spent two years at Auburn and two years as a graduate assistant for Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. Moore played defensive tackle for Oklahoma Panhandle State in Goodwell. He will also be the Bears’ recruiting coordinator and recruit the Dallas area.
Scott spent the last three years as the defensive backs coach at Mississippi Valley State in Itta Bena. Prior to his time with the Delta Devils, he was a graduate assistant at Prairie View A&M in Texas. A Pine Bluff native, Scott graduated from Watson Chapel High School and lettered three years as a cornerback at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He will recruit the Memphis and north Mississippi areas.
In addition to adding the final pieces to the staff, current defensive backs coach Perry Eliano will add the title of Assistant Head Coach to his duties this fall. Hud Jackson is now the associate head coach
“Hud Jackson has been my assistant head coach for several years and will continue to serve in the capacity of handling operations and matters internal to the football program,” said Conque. “Coach Eliano will add this administrative title and handle matters external to the program in my absence. This will create a more efficient flow chart and streamline to our daily activities.”
The team will report for practice on Saturday, Aug. 7. The Bears open the season on Thursday, Sept. 2 with Elizabeth City State at Estes Stadium.
