CONWAY, S.C. — Coastal Carolina University is opening its dorms a day early so students can return from Thanksgiving break and cheer on the school’s football team in the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.

University officials tell The Sun News of Myrtle Beach that dorms will reopen Friday.

Coastal Carolina hosts Western Illinois on Saturday, and the school wants to have plenty of students in the stands for the first round playoff game.

The university has also bought 750 tickets to give away to students who return.
