Elon Hires Director of Football Operations
Elon University head football coach Jason Swepson today announced the addition of Eric Estes to his staff. Estes will serve the Phoenix program as the director of football operations, a position he held for the past year at Winston-Salem State University.
Estes has been a member of the Winston-Salem State program for the last three seasons. His first two years with the Rams were as the video coordinator. In all three seasons, Estes also had the title of assistant recruiting coordinator.

In his role as director of football operations last year, Estes coordinated travel arrangements, team meals and served as a liaison between the program and campus housing. Estes also assisted in the recruiting efforts of the Winston-Salem State program.
Estes has performed internships with three NFL programs – the Pittsburgh Steelers (March 2007-March 2008), Carolina Panthers (July 2006-September 2006) and Denver Broncos (June 2005-February 2006). During those stints, Estes assisted with day-to-day football operations as well as served the media relations and personnel departments.
Estes graduated cum laude from Winston-Salem State in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in management. As an undergrad, Estes spent the spring of 2003 studying business at the Copenhagen Business School in Copenhagen, Denmark.
