Colgate hungry to reclaim Patriot League title
Since winning its first Patriot League championship in 1997 the Colgate football team has never gone more than two years without winning another. With a current two-year drought, that means the Raiders are due to return to the top of the league this season.

Colgate, which went 7-4 overall last year and 3-2 in the Patriot League, returns seven starters each on offense and defense, most notably star running back Nate Eachus. As a junior last year Each led all of NCAA Division I with 170.1 rush yards per game, earning several postseason awards and several preseason honors for this year including the Patriot League’s Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. Eachus stands to have another great season with five offensive linemen who started last year back in front of him, but the offense needs to fill a hole at quarterback following the graduation of three-year starter Greg Sullivan.
The Raiders, picked to finish second in the Patriots League behind defending champion Lehigh, begin their season Saturday, September 3 at home against UAlbany.
