Mustache fever hits Montana State
Montana State University football players hoping to compete for their first championship since 1984 are looking to channel that past team’s good fortune by matching them mustache for mustache.
Many of the Bobcats are battling out to see who can grow the best upper-lip appendage in training camp. A variety of mustaches were on display Thursday at Media Day, from the bushy and caterpillar-like to lighter, wispy styles that have to be touched up with a dab of dye.
Tight end Shane Robison says one day the team was looking at a picture of the 1984 national championship squad and saw those players’ mustaches. He said he and his teammates decided to grow their own so they would have that link.
Offensive guard Alex Terrien says he hopes the 1984 look will bring the team a little luck and good karma for the season.
The Bobcats open their season Sept. 1 at Utah.
