Richmond AD Miller moving to new role
Richmond Athletic Director Jim Miller is moving to a new role in the school president’s office.
The school says Miller will focus on athletic alumni relations and fund-raising for athletic programs as a special assistant to president Edward Ayers. He will continue as the athletics director until a successor is named.

The Spiders moved to the Atlantic 10 Conference shortly after Miller arrived and have thrived.
They won the Championship Subdivision football national championship in 2008, and have claimed 44 league titles in the A-10. The men’s basketball team has made three NCAA tournament appearances, reaching the Sweet 16 in 2011.
Ayers says Miller can lay the foundation for continued athletic success for years to come in his new role.
