North Dakota State Still No. 1, 11/12/12 Gridiron Power Index (GPI)
North Dakota State is still the one, #1 in the Gridiron Power Index (GPI), the index ranking for the NCAA Division I FCS and a top indicator of at-large playoff selection. All of the components have the Bison on top.

The Missouri Valley Football Conference has seven teams in the top 25; the Colonial Athletic Association has five; the Big Sky Conference has four; the Southern and Ohio Valley Conferences have three each; the Southland Conference has two; and the Big South Conference has one. (Games through 11/10/12)
For conference average rankings, the Missouri Valley Football Conference widened their lead in first with the Big Sky Conference jumping the Southern at two and three. The Southland and Ohio Valley Conferences are in fourth and fifth with the Colonial Athletic Association behind in sixth.
