Louisiana HOF Member and Southern Grad Aeneas Williams Remembers Eddie Robinson
NATCHITOCHES – Riding along on a couple of those legendary old Southwestern Athletic Conference football tours, Aeneas Williams saw a different side of Grambling coach Eddie Robinson.
For years, coaches and players from the SWAC traveled together by bus delivering fiery football sermons all over the South. Selected by his coach Gerald Kimble, Williams was part of the tour in both his junior and senior seasons at Southern.
Williams as a young college player was amazed at Robinson’s enthusiasm and stamina — traits that allowed him to coach for so many decades.
